Research

Vegas Simbelis conducts research in art, design, media, and technology. Vegas holds a PhD in interactive art and design in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (KTH Royal Institute of Technology) and a PhD in Art and Media Arts (Vilnius Art Academy).

During the research position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, EECS, Media Technology and Interaction Design department, Vegas also was affiliated with a research centre Mobile Life VINN Excellence Centre – Researcher within the Arts & Crafts group, Stockholm, Sweden.

The research consists of practice-based research (art practice, designing artefacts and solutions, collaborative design work) and articulation of insights in proceedings through research papers and articles (conferences CHI, DIS, TEI, 4S, EASST, ISEA, SIGGRAPH, ACE, EVA, RIXC, Economia, Renewable Futures, Geomedia). The interdisciplinary research covers fields of art, design and technology. Teaching takes over by giving lectures, supervision and examination in design, art and media subjects.
